Tips to help you achieve the perfect golf swing
For most players, the life-long pursuit of a perfect golf swing makes the game worthwhile. A set of complex movements that involve legs, hips, arms and the back have to be executed to achieve the best golf swing. The following tips should help you in perfecting your swing.
Develop a positive attitude
When you go onto the golf course with a positive mindset, you are likely to get the best results.
Use a strong grip
You need to have a strong and firm grip if you want to complete a perfect golf swing. Use your left hand to grip the shaft extending it from the meaty part of your hand below the little finger to the middle of your index finger. The right hand has to be placed below the left one while the club sits from your right little finger to the tip of the index finger. Your grip has to form a V-shape with your index fingers and thumbs.
Use the correct setup
Correct setups involve using accurate back, arm and leg postures. Ensure that it is consistent for every swing you take. Distribute your weight evenly on both feet and bend your knees and arms a little. Before taking the swing, keep your back straight and hold your chin up.
Perfect your swing plane
A swing plane refers to the line drawn by golf clubs when they are being swung. Keep the club on a circular plane while executing the swing.
Work on your backswing
Turn your body so as to allow the club to do its work. The key lies in turning your back using your legs and hips to face the target and letting your chest face the opposite direction. Make sure that your weight is transferred to the inside of the right foot.
Stop slightly when you reach the top
The perfect golf swing entails a slight stop of movement at the top while the club is parallel to the ground during a full swing. This stop allows your weight to shift to the ball and should not be noticeable.
Perfect the Downswing
Keep a steady tempo through the golf ball without twitching your muscles. Allow your weight to move towards the target from the middle of your body.
Improve your follow-through
This should feel like posing for a picture. Your chest should face the target while the club finishes above your head. The left side of your body should now bear your weight.
